1. Introduction
Ringo Lookup is a B2B rights research tool operated by Ringo B.V. (KvK 83776362), Amsterdam, The Netherlands. By using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.
2. Eligibility
Ringo Lookup is exclusively for professionals in the music, advertising, film, and media industries. Personal or household use is prohibited. You must be at least 18 years old and represent that you have the authority to bind yourself or your organisation to these terms.
3. What Ringo Lookup Does
The platform compiles publishing and master ownership data from publicly accessible performing rights organisation databases and other public sources. You submit a Spotify track URL, select a territory, and receive structured rights information including writers, publishers, share percentages, and contact details.
4. What Ringo Lookup Does Not Do
- We do not represent rights holders.
- We do not grant, broker, or facilitate music licences.
- We do not provide legal advice.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed.
You must independently verify all information before initiating licensing negotiations or making business decisions.
5. Data Accuracy & Disclaimer
Rights data is sourced from third-party public registries including but not limited to Buma/Stemra, GEMA, SACEM, The MLC, ASCAP, BMI, SIAE, SABAM, SUISA, JASRAC, SGAE, KOMCA, MusicBrainz, Spotify, and Discogs.
These sources may contain errors, outdated entries, or incomplete records. Confidence indicators displayed on the platform (Verified, Inferred, Best Guess) reflect our algorithmic assessment of data reliability but are not guarantees of correctness.
Publisher share percentages may be estimated or aggregated from multiple sources and may not reflect the actual contractual splits between parties.
Contact details shown may be inferred from public databases and may be outdated or incorrect.
6. Beta Disclaimer
Ringo Lookup is under active development. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. By using the platform during beta, you accept these limitations and consent to being contacted for feedback.
7. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and invite code. Sharing invite codes is not permitted unless explicitly authorised. Report any unauthorised access to support@thisisringo.com immediately.
8. Acceptable Use
You may use Ringo Lookup for individual, good-faith rights research related to sync licensing. You may not:
- Systematically scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute rights data
- Use the platform or its data to train, test, or develop AI or machine learning models
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
- Share your account or invite code with unauthorised third parties
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
9. Intellectual Property
All platform content — including design, code, text, graphics, and logos — is the property of Ringo B.V. or its licensors. Rights data displayed is sourced from third-party databases; Ringo does not claim ownership of that data.
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose.
10. User-Generated Content
By submitting contact corrections, feedback, or suggestions, you grant Ringo a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute that content to improve the platform.
11. Limitation of Liability
The platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” Ringo disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Ringo is not liable for:
- Decisions made based on data displayed on the platform
- Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated rights information
- Service interruptions, data loss, or technical failures
- Actions of third-party data sources
Total liability is capped at the amount you paid to Ringo in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ringo B.V., its directors, employees, and agents from any claims arising from your use of the platform, violation of these terms, or infringement of third-party rights.
13. Termination
Ringo may suspend or terminate your access at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may terminate your account by contacting support@thisisringo.com. Sections 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Disputes are resolved through binding arbitration under the Netherlands Arbitration Institute rules in Amsterdam, conducted in English. If arbitration is unavailable, the courts of Amsterdam have exclusive jurisdiction.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a platform notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
